Profile

I’m Marco Graziaplena, a 26-year-old Italian designer with a background in graphic design and a strong focus on motion graphics and 3D. My work sits at the experimentation, ranging from brand identity to CGI and animation.

Passion and curiosity drive everything I do.
I see design as a continuous journey of exploration rather than just a job. I thrive in creative challenges, whether it’s developing concepts, crafting visuals, or translating abstract ideas into striking experiences.

For me, creativity is not just a skill but a way of living: a process of learning, evolving, and finding new ways to connect ideas, people, and emotions.

PORTFOLIO

1.

GCDS x Hello Kitty Activation

During my time at GCDS, I had the opportunity to oversee the creative direction of this playful yet sophisticated brand activation in collaboration with Hello Kitty and the renowned Milanese pastry shop, PAN.

The project covered every aspect of the activation, from conceptualizing the branded bakery products to designing the social campaign, store decorations, and curated in-store experiences. Managing such a multifaceted project allowed me to refine my skills in coordinating visual communication, storytelling, and on-site execution.

The result was an engaging and memorable activation that blended pop culture, bold branding, and culinary craftsmanship.

GCDS Softporn Laundry

For the Eastern Holidays, I led the full creative direction of this VIP gifting campaign for GCDS. The project included everything from packaging design to the creation of all social media content, managing a fast-paced timeline immediately after Fashion Week.

I developed the visual concept, briefed the filmmaking team with a clear, playful yet polished narrative, and coordinated all aspects of production. The campaign featured a laundromat setting with ironic and irreverent tones.

Each scene was designed to capture a mix of vintage softness and bold, urban edge, aligning with the brand’s aesthetic. This project honed my skills in team coordination, storytelling, and delivering high-quality results under pressure.

The Attico SS25 Trailer

Art Direction by AT Studio

For this freelance project, I had the opportunity to contribute to a teaser trailer for The Attico’s SS25 Fashion Show, titled The Sound of Breaking Glass.

My role focused on executing the 3D simulation of a crystal chandelier falling and shattering on the ground, matching the virtual fragments with the real footage of the show location. While the creative concept was provided by the brand, my contribution ensured the technical accuracy and seamless integration of CGI elements into the final video.

MACH & MACH SS25 Trailers
Art Direction by AT Studio

For the SS25 Collection Campaign, I created two distinct Instagram contents that explore the interplay of inflating simulations and reflective metallic textures.

The first animation features the MACH & MACH logo inflating dramatically, filling the frame with a silvery, balloon-like texture before bursting into fragments. The second animation focuses on the brand’s new shoe release, with the shoe’s intricate heart-shaped charms inflating like balloons, gradually lifting the heel off the ground and out of the frame.

Both pieces combine meticulous 3D modeling with dynamic visual effects, conveying a playful yet luxurious aesthetic that aligns perfectly with the campaign’s concept.

AUTRY London Shop
Art Direction by AT Studio

For the opening of the new Autry flagship store in Soho, London, I created an original concept.

The idea features a classic London taxi carrying a giant Autry sneaker through the streets of Soho. A surreal, immediate image that adds a touch of irony and freshness.

The project blends 3D design, storytelling, and attention to detail, resulting in a visually striking and memorable piece.

LANEUS Symbol

In collaboration with AT Studio
For Laneus, an emerging Italian knitwear brand, I developed the creative direction for a distinctive symbol to be physically applied to the garments.

Inspired by the concept of a nomadic journey, the design draws upon the stars as guiding elements, evoking a sense of exploration and connection. The symbol narrates a path, almost like a map leading to new horizons, while simultaneously recalling the intricate weave of fabric, a metaphor for the seamless blend of artisanal tradition and contemporary innovation.

The result is an elegant and abstract icon, embodying luxury and quality with a modern and timeless aesthetic.

BEYOND THE THREAD

PROCESS

The development of the LANEUS mark was the result of a process of research and synthesis. I began by analyzing the brand’s identity and core values—craftsmanship, quality, and contemporary luxury—while exploring different conceptual directions inspired by travel and nomadism. This led to symbols referencing postal stamps, coins, and constellations: signs capable of evoking movement, memory, and connection.

Throughout iterative phases of visual exploration, abstraction, and refinement, the concepts were gradually distilled into an essential and versatile symbol. In addition to its aesthetic qualities, the mark was designed with its applicative nature in mind: conceived to be physically realized and adaptable to different finishes such as metal hardware, embroidery, printing, and beyond. It is not meant to replace the logo, but to live alongside it as a distinctive and recognizable element, consistent with the payoff Beyond the Thread and the brand’s visual identity.

GDAMN LEDWALL VISUAL 2025

For the GDamn club night I curated and directed a set of five visuals designed to expand the experience beyond music and turn the screen into an additional stage. Each piece explored a different language: two highly technical 3D animations, two motion graphics works with a strong typographic approach, and a rapid-fire slideshow built from dozens of logo patches. Rather than a uniform style, the goal was variety—different rhythms, aesthetics and techniques, each contributing to the energy of the night and keeping the audience engaged.
